This week will be looking at Canva as a whole from a beginners perspective. We will look at core concepts of design, file types, Fonts and colour. This will be a very basic introduction. I suggest keeping notes just to make sure you don’t miss anything. Some but not all of what is covered in class will included in the tutorial video available here.

Design a Poster for a band in one of the following genres: Heavy Metal, Jazz or Dance Music.

• Make it A4.
• Use an name real or imagined you like.
• They are playing in a bar (any bar) on the 15th April 2027 from 9 till late.
• Use AI for imagery or found, your own imagery if you like. (Perhaps creating 2: One AI and 1 Not AI would be the best option to allow you to understand proceesses better.)
• Think of Fonts used.
• Think of Colour schemes.
• What layout suits the theme?
• Is it clear to read?
• Is the information front and centre?

This week we’ll be intorducing Affinity Designer for editing Image sand Text to create elements to use in Canva.You can also create full posters etc in just affinity designer.
